Between Photoshop and Lightroom, anyone can make quick edits to dramatically change the appearance of a picture. To illustrate this, you'll find a before and after picture of a very lovely young lady below.
The shot started as a candid shot, hence the reason for muddy background. I simply moved the image over to Photoshop, created a flat background using the carpet from the foreground, and composited the two layers together using a "lighten" blend mode. Once I was satisfied with the cleaned background, I roundtripped back to Lightroom and applied one of my single portrait presets. The whole process took just over 5 minutes! The results are dramatic and left us with a wall-hanging-worthy picture.
